PATTY’S PICK: Fruit Dips

by Patty Roper | Photography by Bonnie Dickerson

I love fresh fruit all year round, but especially in the summer. This is my favorite fruit dip, and this is my favorite fruit dressing. My friend Mary Jane McDaniel shared the Spiced Fruit Dressing recipe. They are both easy and delicious anytime. Enjoy!

Creamy Fruit Dip

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (7-ounce) container marshmallow creme
1 teaspoon vanilla or ½ teaspoon almond flavoring
Few drops pink food coloring

With mixer, beat cream cheese until light and fluffy. Beat in marshmallow creme, vanilla or almond flavoring, and a few drops of food coloring. Serve with fresh seasonal fruit. Store in refrigerator up to two weeks.  |  Yield: 2 cups

Spiced Fruit Dressing

½ cup white wine
½ cup honey
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon allspice
3 tablespoons amaretto liqueur
For garnish: Chopped fresh mint

In a bowl, combine all ingredients, and spoon over fresh fruit. Garnish with fresh mint. | Yield: about 1¼ cups
