I love pumpkins, and especially these pumpkins dressed in beautiful designer prints. With just a few supplies and a little time, ordinary white pumpkins become aesthetic decorative objets d’art. Pumpkins are covered in beautiful paper napkins, even some made to match china patterns, and elegant tissue paper patterns that are readily available at stationery shops, gift shops, craft stores, and online.
So select some patterns, and enjoy creating some exquisite fall accessories for your home and as special gifts for your friends. Let the fun begin!
You will need:
White pumpkins of various sizes (from craft stores)
Napkins or tissue paper (from stationery shops, gift shops, craft stores, online)
Matte-finish Mod Podge (from craft stores)
Scissors and brushes
- Choose a nice paper napkin or tissue paper.
- Carefully separate white layers of napkin from the top design layer.
- Cut design napkin layer into smaller curved pieces to fit around pumpkin and retain design.
- Remove pumpkin stem from pumpkin, paint gold if desired; set aside. Brush Mod Podge on a small portion of pumpkin, and brush and smooth 3 or 4 pieces of napkin or tissue, one at a time, touching or slightly overlapping on pumpkin. Brush napkin pieces with a thin layer of Mod Podge. Allow to dry before adding next sections. Continue until pumpkin is covered.
