For boxes with removable lids, draw the exterior box size and lid size on the back of wallpaper. Cut out coverings with as few seams as possible. Wet wallpaper, and cover the box and its lid separately, folding edges inside. Allow to dry overnight, then add ribbons, bows, and trims. For square and rectangular one-piece boxes (those that are purchased flat with tabs and slits for construction), gently pull apart the glued edge of the box. Smooth wet wallpaper on the box; allow to dry overnight. Cut off wallpaper edge around box, and cut slits as on the box itself. Fold on fold lines to construct box. Glue together edges of box that were originally glued. Draw a gold line around the front of the box edge, if desired. Tie with bows and trims. For pyramid-shaped boxes, wet wallpaper and smooth onto the rough side of the poster board. Allow to dry overnight. Draw a square the desired size on the white side of the poster board. Mark the midpoint of each side of the square. Draw a line perpendicular to the midpoint of each side that extends to the height of the package contents. With a ruler, draw a line from the top of the midpoint line to each end of each side of the square. The overall drawing will resemble a four-pointed star with a square in the center and four identical triangles extending outward from sides (figure 1). Cut out star-shaped figure. Fold each point up to form a pyramid by using a ruler to create a sharp crease (figure 2). Place figure flat with wallpaper side up, and draw a gold line around the outside edge of the star-shaped figure. Punch a hole in the point of each triangle. Turn figure so that white side faces up, then place contents in tissue on square, then bring up sides and thread ribbon through all holes to tie a bow at the top (figure 3). Add a larger bow or tassel. Tag gifts in special ways by writing names or monograms on the sides of boxes or on the ribbons with a gold marking pen.
